Fat Loss Photo Shoot Results Are In
March 30th, 2008 · Filed Under: Fat Loss Motivation · Fat Loss Nutrition · Fat Loss Workouts
A couple months ago I mentioned that Angie and I booked a photo shoot for April 2nd to hold ourselves accountable to our fat loss goals and to provide extra motivation to get in the best shape of our lives. We actually did our photo shoot on Friday which was 5 days ahead of schedule and the results are in and the pictures can be found below. You may be wondering how I achieved 6% body fat and how Angie achieved 14% body fat. Well I can’t wait to share our journey with you.
Just to let you know, I will be doing a live webcast on Thursday April 3rd to go into great detail about our body transformation journey.
I Didn’t Reach My Goal
First of all I didn’t actually reach my goal. I was aiming for 5% body fat. I was actually hesitant to go through with the photo shoot because I didn’t meet my expectations. I was going to put it off for another 4 weeks, but then I realized that I paid the photographer in advance which was very smart of me.
The best part is that I am focused on constant improvement. I am ecstatic to be at 6% body fat. I have never felt better in my entire life. My new goal is to get just below 4% body fat in the next 4 to 6 weeks and then pack on some muscle. Then I will really go for the best symmetry possible. The human body is a beautiful thing and I can’t stop admiring how we can mold and sculpt it.
Some of you may be thinking that Angie and I had to starve ourselves in order to achieve these results. That couldn’t be further from the truth. I guarantee that Angie eats much more than most of the women out there who are attempting to lose weight. As for myself, well get this…
Does This Sound Like I Starved Myself?
5 days prior to the photo shoot it was Easter weekend. On the Saturday I ate lots of turkey, too much ham, potatoes, stuffing, 2 pieces of ice cream cake, 2 pieces of cheesecake, 1 piece of apple pie, and veggies.
On Sunday I ate an entire chocolate bunny, chocolate eggs, loads of turkey, potatoes, stuffing, and 4 pieces of birthday cake.
Yes I went over board on those days. I just kept thinking to myself that I had been so good and that it was Easter and I should let loose, photo shoot or not.
Every single Saturday during my transformation I ate 7 slices of pizza and a chocolate bar. The I would have a chocolate bar during the week for the first half of my transformation and then just the Saturday treat during the second half.
Our Diet Plan
Angie and I both followed The Every Other Day Diet Plan throughout the transformation. For the first half both of us followed The Every Other Day Diet Lifestyle Plan and for the last four weeks I kicked it up a notch to The Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan.
To be honest I have totally adapted to The Every Other Day Diet Extreme Plan which allows a treat once per week. This now seems natural to me and I don’t want any junk food any more often than that. My body is just totally loving the healthier food choices that I’m making and I feel like a million bucks.
Now if you’ve been following our journey for a while you know that Angie and I were both successful with The Every Other Day Diet Plan for a 6 week period during October and early November. I lost 10 pounds of fat during that time and then life really got in the way. It happens to the best of us.
In January Angie and I set our goals and got back on track. Actually we started our journey right before we went on a cruise. We were faced with many obstacles along the way, including me not being able to workout for over a week because I cracked my skull off the ice and required stitches.
Total Fat Loss… 35 Pounds and 14% Body Fat
During this 12 week journey I discarded 25 pounds of fat in addition to the 10 pounds that I discarded in October and November. Total fat loss including October and November is 14% body fat. Ya that’s pretty crazy!
Looking at my pictures I can already hear the comments, “They must have great genetics.” Genetics play such a small role and I can put on fat just as easy as you and it’s just as difficult for me to discard it.
I’ve been athletic all my life and ridiculously skinny. I’m 32 years old now and 10 years ago I weighed 120 pounds. Yes a slight breeze would have blown me over. I was always told that I would never gain weight. Ha, were they ever wrong.
The stress of working 16 hours a day as a health club owner with 2 young children and then eventually having to close it down and claim bankruptcy 18 months ago was enough to add over 30 pounds onto my frame. And yes that weight came on all too easy.
And to think of how skinny I was, the 4 year Kinesiology degree that I have, the 4 years of studying sport psychology, the experience in the trenches and the continued daily self education that I go through, and still I put on this weight.
You will see in the pictures below just how much I let myself go. I knew what to do. I just wasn’t doing it. I was focused on business and getting myself out of the financial hole that I had created for myself.
I hit rock bottom and knew that I couldn’t take it any more. I set some goals in October and was practicing a lot of the mental training techniques that I’ve learned and taught over the years. It was working great. Then life got in the way in November and there’s nothing wrong with that.
The Motivation That I Needed
Then I began to listen to my programUnstoppable Fat Loss every single day. I had already listened to the 21 interviews a couple dozen times, but this time I took detailed notes and hung on every word. It’s amazing what I had missed all those times.
One word that Jon Benson said in our interview struck a chord with me. “Destiny”. I began to think of my destiny and the legacy that I wanted to leave behind. My destiny is to obliterate obesity and in order to do that I have to be the best role model possible. This truly motivates and inspires me beyond anything else that I’ve ever done.
With this new powerful mindset of going after my destiny rather than just a short term fat loss goal, my focus was different and hence, my mindset of constant and continuous improvement.
Make Your Goals Public
We scheduled our photo shoot and made our goals public here as well as in Tom Venuto’s Burn The Fat Inner Circle. I am a moderator in Tom’s inner circle for the Goals and Motivation Forum. I knew that If I told everyone there about my intentions I would absolutely have to follow through with my plan.
Fat Loss Workout Programs
As far as workout go I followed my book The Fit Bastard Year Of Workouts. I trained with weights for 20 minutes 4 times per week. I walked 30-45 minutes first thing in the morning on an empty stomach 5-6 days per week. I did 15 minutes of HIIT cardio training 3 times per week in the first 8 weeks and then 5 times per week for the last 4 weeks.
So there were days where I walked in the morning and did HIIT later on in the day. Plus there were some days where I did weights on the same day as both HIIT and walking.
Anyone who says that you can get 6 pack abs from just 90 minutes of training per week is full of crap and is using great marketing tactics to try and mislead you. Once you read those books they always recommend for best results do 30 minutes of activity on your off days. So really it takes more than the 90 minutes that they hooked you in with.
Angie followed The Fit Chic Year of Express Home Workouts. She did weight training for 10 minutes 4 times per week. She walked 4-5 times per week first thing in the morning on an empty stomach and did 15 minutes of HIIT training 3 times per week, sometimes more, sometimes less.
The weight training and HIIT training really didn’t take up much of our time. For Angie, her weight training and HIIT training worked out to be around 80 minutes per week. But those 4-5 days of brisk walking for 30-45 minutes had a tremendous impact on her results. Not to mention that we really enjoy the early morning walks. It helps clear our heads and prepare us for the day. Plus we love being in nature.
There’s so much more that I will share with you during the webcast Thursday April 3rd, but I wanted to share as much as I could here. Now it’s time for those pictures…
But first, my embarrassing before pictures. No camera tricks here
Our Fat Loss Results
Now for the after pictures…

By the way ladies… Angie will be 35 in July. She’s had 2 kids and our 4 year old daughter Noelle was a c-section. There really is no excuse why you can not achieve these same results. Angie’s a busy mom and as you can tell in our workouts videos, the kids are always running around while she’s doing her weight training session.
There’s definitely been a spark in our relationship since we’ve been on this journey. I’ve always thought that Angie was totally HOT! But now she’s taken it to a whole new level.
And with The Every Other Day Diet Plan she didn’t have to give up the sweets that she loves.
I hope that our pictures and transformation has inspired you to take action, schedule a photo shoot and go after the life that you deserve. Angie and I are really no different from you. If we can do it, so can you.
We will be sharing more videos of the meals that we prepare and the workouts that we do. I look forward to getting on the webcast and sharing so much more with you.
I want nothing more than to see you experiencing the joy and happiness that Angie and I are experiencing for ourselves. Life truly is charmed when you are living in optimal health. Please do not sell yourself short. You deserve the very best and need to go after it.
You never really know what you are missing out on until you reach your goal. I seriously can’t believe just how much better life is where I’m at now then where I was even just 10 pounds ago.
I’m bouncing off the walls with energy and I get to share that with my family and friends. I’m telling you… YOU NEED THIS! YOU DESERVE THIS!
I can’t wait to help you achieve it. I’m here for you. Let me know what I can do to help you make this your reality.
Have an absolutely amazing day!

Talk about a difference. What a great result. Most people can only dream of dropping down to that kind of bodyfat percentages. Great job, well done. This will be a great stimulator for others to pick themselves up and go for a transformation..

That’s some awesome inspiration, Scott! If these pictures don’t get people motivated to start, well, I don’t know what will.

Hi, um I was just wondering, about The Every Other Day Diet? Yeah, I have a few queries but there wasn’t any contact on the web, so I was wondering if you could help me with them.
1)Is it a MUST to do the detox? Because I’m 14 and I need loads of energy during the week for school and my other activities.
2)Also, can you breifly describe how the meal plans are? Because I’m already doing the one from Truth About Six Pack by Mike Geary, and so I basically live off 1200cal/day every week except for a cheat day, which is where I eat wtv I want. So I’d like to know if there is any difference between the plan I’m doing now, and the one from The Every Other Day Diet.
Hope you can get back to me soon! Thanks.
