Top 10 Challenging Leg Exercises
February 6th, 2008 · Filed Under: Fat Loss Workouts
If you want to take your leg training to the next level you must incorporate these top 10 leg exercises into your workout program. Common mistakes the men make in the gym are 1) not training their legs at all, and 2) not incorporating enough variety into their leg training.
Top 10 Best Leg Exercises
- Front Squat
- Dead Lift
- Split Squat
- Reverse Lunge
- Step Ups
- 1 Leg Bench Squat
- 1 Leg Stability Ball Leg Curl
- Bulgarian Lunge
- Deep-Partial Squat
- 1 Leg Ball Squat Against The Wall
I’m sure some of these exercises are not familiar for many of you, so Angie and I put together a quick video to demonstrate each exercise.
As you can see, we performed each of the top 10 leg exercises from the comfort of our own home with very limited space and very limited amount of equipment.
Just like The Fit Bastard Express Home Workouts If you have an 8×8 space with some dumbbells and a stability ball, you can get a phenomenal workout in that will sculpt your body.
The above exercises are challenging, but I am certain that you can work your way up to them. For many of the 1 legged exercise you can begin by using both legs.
It’s time to take your fat loss journey to the next level. I know you’re ready!
Have an absolutely amazing day!

Thank you Scott and God bless you for all you do helping us! This may not be the place, but I’d like to ask you something. I’ve recently had an umbilical hernia repaired and I’m concerned that my legs and abs are going to suffer as I’m ‘very’ leary about doing squats, leg presses, ab exercise…basically anything that is going to require ‘core’ pressure to workout. I understand it’s going to take weeks before I feel comfortable to even try anything light. What words of encouragement and exercises that may put a light load on my core but still help my leg workout..might you have for me or anyone who may be in the same predicament as myself? Thanks…

Hey John,
Thanks for your comments and questions. It sure means a lot to me.
I love to hear that you aren’t going to let this ’setback’ prevent you from progressing.
You’re already planning out your recovery process and that’s totally awesome.
This is definitely a surgery that you don’t want to irritate in any way, so being sure to recovery fully is crucial.
I don’t believe that you will experience much of a setback in your abs, and I’m certain that your legs will bounce back quickly.
I’d focus first on strengthening your core with very basic movements which I will show you in a video this week.
Then ease into some 2 leg ball squats against the wall without any weight. And then a 2 leg ball curl.
Both those exercises are in the video but performed with 1 leg.
I’ll show you a few others too.
Although you will be taking it easy with exercise you can use this time to set big goals for yourself filled with loads of emotion. Create a master plan to get you there.
You can also use this time to focus on improving your nutrition. Get in the habit of preparing your food in advance and creating a weekly meal plan.
Workouts are just a part of the overall solution. Use this time to improve the other pillars of fat loss success.
I’ll be in touch soon John. Great question.
